Romaine Lettuces

Not sure how it happened, but we're growing vegetables these days in addition to fruit. We've got lots of beautiful salad greens available and they won't last long. They are lovely lettuces with names like Jericho, Rosalita and Red Fire. We're eagerly looking forward to mango season and expect a huge crop this year. We anticipate they'll be available in late June or early July.

We sell direct to the public when we have excess fruit, so please  contact  us to be added to our direct sales list. We will send an email periodically to let you know what is available for pickup. We are not open to the public for drop-in purchases.

You may be surprised to learn that even in Hawaii, the climate is seasonal for optimal production of certain fruit. Even year-round fruits like bananas and papaya that thrive in the warm, sunny days of summer, slow down production considerably in the wetter winters of Hawaii.

Generally, citrus (lemon, lime, orange, tangerine) are more productive in winter months. Avocados are available in fall and winter, and mangos from early summer to as late as fall.

The chart below will give you a good idea of what is available and when during the year.
